Mission: Back to Lunches
Avondale is back on track to make lunches for the homeless every month and we need your help. Starting in December 2021, we will resume* making lunches for Roof Above to serve to our homeless neighbors every month.
We have agreed to take on a greater number of lunches and sandwiches (150 sandwiches!), so we will need more volunteers than in the past. This is a great opportunity for families to help feed our homeless neighbors and also learn the magic of an assembly line!
Our first date is 4 PM on Wednesday, December 22, 2021- a great way to serve during the holidays. Sign-up to help.
Mission: Roof Above Lunches News/Update
*Since the pandemic began, Avondale has been making monthly bag lunches for Roof Above clients living in a dorm near Presbyterian Hospital. Unfortunately, the dorm is no longer rented out to Roof Above, the clients no longer reside there, so our sandwich making came to a halt in August 2021. We are talking with Roof Above about continuing our sandwich making mission for their clients at their Day Services Center downtown.
Stay tuned, as we will soon be resuming our monthly sandwich making. We need volunteers of all ages- families welcome!
